This role will function as an expert on the capabilities of the Episys Symitar system in regard to PowerOn programming, standard batch programming options, forms, and Episys parameter settings. This position is also responsible for the software development of the Credit Unions Core System Episys Symitar as well as following written specification for creating PowerOn programs to generate batch and on-demand specifies, reports, and file maintenance routines. Responsible for analyzing and developing programming logic, primarily as it relates to the core data processing system. Work with all departments to determine efficiencies and develop code to meet specific business needs. Use programming tools to design, analyze program code, and debug both new and existing software and reports. Recommend changes to improve systems, analyze business needs and translate them into product design, and write technical specifications to document program design.

Major Duties and Essential Functions:

  • The primary function of the Systems Programmer/Analyst include programming (C , HTML, HTML5, Power-On, etc.) design, database management (SQL, Power-On) and implementing new IS systems.
  • Leads Episys development efforts using Symitars PowerOn language including: reports, On-Demand staff functions, SymConnect and SymXchange APIs, SymForms and batch FM reports. Development includes testing, training, security, audits and documentation where applicable.
  • Oversee administration and maintenance of systems, providing expert-level Symitar software support in a hosted EASE environment. Ensuring exceptional of support, systems security, and availability, and assisting the Director, Core Systems with vendor/technology evaluations.
  • Communicates with appropriate personnel when program errors are discovered, programming changes, release updates, and new features by following appropriate change management procedures.
  • Work with different departments and staff for enhancing reports. The reports may be developed on Episys, ARCU or Akcelerant. Ensure the necessary reports are archived to OnBase.
  • Supports business systems outside of Episys that connect to the core, which includes but is not limited to Synapsys, ARCU, IMM and Hyland Onbase.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and business units. Serves as a liaison to other departments and participate in project teams as core services expert for enhancements and implementation of any new or upgraded changes. This includes working with marketing and training for appropriate communications and training.
  • Must be able to be on-call after hours in case of outages and other urgent issues.
  • Proactively demonstrate the TVFCU core values of integrity, honesty, flexibility, teamwork, leadership, accountability, and strong relationships in every interaction with members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of, programming (C, C , HTML, HTML5, JAVA, JSON, or ASP) experience or, an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 3 years of Symitar development experience (PowerOn/RegGen) is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and member relation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
