Job Description

  • Provides a balanced preschool curriculum as evidenced by the daily lesson plans completed and turned in to the Center Director each week. Lesson plans are designed around theme-oriented PAL
  • Gathers and prepares sufficient supplies and equipment for each day’s use. Is aware of what materials are available and of their proper
  • Maintains assigned classroom bulletin boards. Bulletin boards include daily classroom schedules and items of special interest to
  • Maintains a clean and orderly environment. Ensures the classroom is safe, neat and ready for the children’s use each day. Assists other staff members in maintaining the classroom, kitchen, bathroom, laundry and storage areas.
  • Utilizes classroom lockers for the attractive display of books, plants, etc. Keeps lockers free of teaching.
  • Does not attach drawings and/or decorations to the walls with staples, nails or other materials that could damage or deface the
  • Provides suitable emotional support to the children throughout the day within a loving and nurturing environment. Always displays warmth and

Minimum Qualification:

a. Child Development Associate (CDA)
b. Paraprofessional Certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission

c. Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Infant and Toddler, School Age and Youth Care or Program Administration.

d. Associate degree in Early/Childhood Education or Child Development.

e. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.

f. Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
