Description
Summary: Assist with the daily operation of the repair shop. This includes handling the documentation and orderly flow of work through the repair shops.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Check-in equipment to be repaired and prepare proper documentation (manuals, parts sheets) for the DCI
(disassembly, clean, inspect).
Consult with Repair Shop Manager and Mechanics/Machinist to clarify the proper documentation is available.
Review documentation to verify order paperwork flow.
Select, locate and cost specific repair part numbers, processes, services, machining, etc.; labor hours
Create a bill of materials and repair quote with work scope description
Forward quote to sales with cost breakdown and estimate of repair schedule promptly.
Follow up on quotes within 30-60 days. Return to customer equipment that cannot/will not be repaired (or scrap) in 60 days after the quote has been sent to Sales
Enter required repair items in the sales order and purchase non-inventoried items
Purchase shop materials for ongoing repair activities; research upgrade alternatives
Purchase parts for equipment that is to be repaired as required.
Assist with the scheduling of daily activities of the mechanics and machinist.
Handle parts logistics to make sure they meet the set schedule.
Consult with shop and maintain scheduled events
Handle repair documentation and scans
Create/maintain equipment database
Communicate with sales to meet their customer’s needs.
Analyze jobs to be completed and make adjustments best to satisfy our mechanics/machinist’s customer and utilization.
Communicate daily with the Repair Manager, Shop Manager, Sales Engineers, and vendors to perform tasks.
Closes repair order and completes the repair invoice to the customer.
Upon job completion, verify final documents (as required) are saved in the system.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2-3 years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills: Must be able to perform basic mathematical equations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, use of whole numbers, and percentage and decimals.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, the individual should have basic computer skills, knowledge of MS Office Software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook), and internet software.
