Manufacturing Engineer

Apply hands-on involvement in manufacturing support for existing and new products, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Discover root cause of and solutions to performance, functionality, yield, reliability, and other electronics related issues of products or components.
• Working knowledge of analog and digital hardware.
• Identify and evaluate viable replacement parts for obsolete and or long lead components & develop or assist in the development of a cohesive list of accepted parts to reduce variation and simplify parts selection.
• Prepare and review bills of material; identify opportunities to include use of generic or standard components.
• Confirms systems and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods, testing properties.
• Develops manufacturing processes & assures product quality by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components, soliciting observations from operators.
• Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Ability to design & sustain CE/RoHS & other applicable compliance requirements.
• Conduct periodic design reviews. This includes but is not limited to Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs). Understand and support the goals of the organization. Goals to include any projects identified as critical to the organization, implementation of NP&SI, Intellectual Property (IP) process, common tools, and common practices between the locations.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

• Minimum of BS degree and 3-5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics/drawings and BOMs for root-cause board-level RF and Digital hardware failures.
• Experience with PCB layout software; Unisoft and/or Altium experience preferred.
• Competent in the use of common electronic troubleshooting tools (oscilloscopes, meters, etc.)
• Proficient with use of excel (or equiv) for data analysis with the intent to document and report on technical solutions/findings.
• Self-motivated, works with minimal supervision, sees challenges as opportunities, can keep production on track, and is committed to the team success.
