Temecula Creek Optometry is Hiring an Optician Near Temecula, CA

Responsibilities

    *Overview: *Design, measure, fit, and adapt lenses and frames for client according to written optical prescription or specification. Assist client with selecting frames. Measure customer for size of eyeglasses and coordinate frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescription. Prepare work order for optical laboratory containing instructions for grinding and mounting lenses in frames. Verify exactness of finished lens spectacles. Adjust frame and lens position to fit client. May shape or reshape frames. *Responsibilities:
  • Frame selection
  • Lens selection based on doc’s recommendations / patient needs
  • Explain lenses and options to patients
  • Navigate/help patient understand insurance coverage
  • Ledgers
  • Vision RX
  • Submit orders
  • Frame dispenses/adjustments
  • Trouble shooting patients with problems adapting or who are unhappy
  • Pretesting/rooming patients
  • Visual fields, fundus photos, drop instillation

Qualifications

    *High School Diploma or GED *ABO Certification or at least 1 year of optician experience *Knowledge of Frame Selection, Fitting, Repair *Ability to utilize pre-testing equipment (Lensometer, Fundus Camera, etc.) *Knowledge of pre-testing procedures (visual fields, drop installation, PD measuring, etc.) *Experience with AltaPoint or other Electronic Medical Records software *Superior telephone, written, verbal and math skills *Attention to detail and initiative *Strong sales ability *Customer Service Skills
