The Opportunity

Under direct supervision develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.
• Confers with vendors to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
• Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes. 5%
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. 5%
• Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. 5%
• Uses Process and Value stream mapping to determine more efficient processes. 5%
• Define and implement more efficient material flow throughout operations.
• Apply the Ergonomics of material handling in a Production environment
• Implement green initiatives wherever possible
• Designs and maintain production floor processes. 10%
• Develops efficient material flow optimization procedures throughout Production
• Develop and maintain production floor test equipment and tooling. 5%
• Drive development of new processes for product improvement on the production floor. 5%
• Initiate and implement quality and productivity improvements on the production floor such as 5S, DMAIC, lean methods (continuous improvement program), etc 10%
• Maintain and improve production floor processes which include NCR’s, Process documentation and CAPA’s. 10%
• Utilizes problem solving tools and techniques and apply risk-based approach to problem solving. 5%
• Provide technical support on manufacturing technical issues. 10%
• Approve manufacturing product and process changes and assures the change management is controlled, adequate, and documented. 5%

Qualifications Required for Position

• Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
• Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 0 to 2 years of experience.
• Typically reports to a department head or manager.

• Knowledge to analyze and reduce process cycle time

• Recognized process improvement (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma) and problem solving (e.g. RCA, DMAIC, 5 Whys) training preferred

• Working knowledge of risk assessments, design control requirements, FMEAs, control plans, quality plans, testing and inspection equipment and techniques

• Proficiency in Statistical Process Control knowledge

• Strong organizational and communication skills - effectively communicate with technical and non-technical staff

• Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical devices
• Ability to read and analyze mechanical and electrical drawings

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000.In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for performance bonus, RSU’s, and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2022. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
