Description:

Business AnalystThe Business Analyst will be drawing out and accurately capturing and documenting business and functional requirements, documenting system functionality, documenting logical designs in various formats, and helping guide testing via test scenarios and business UAT guidance. A significant amount of time will be spent documenting the systems IT supports today by collaborating with the business and IT team members who currently enhance and support them. The candidate will become a functional expert in the systems assigned to them.Responsibilities and Tasks• Assist project managers with scoping projects• Requirementso Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues. This includes (but not limited to) a project summary, organizational impact, applications potentially impacted, identified exclusions, and other constraints risks and dependencieso Document a list of functional requirements and the as-is stateo Create/capture definitions of how this will benefit the business including any backing evidence the business can provideo Ensure the project stays within scope (avoid scope creep) by collaborating with project manager and business stake holders – any requirements that are outside of scope require project manager and business approval.o Clearly document the requirements in the appropriate format so it is easy to use and understand by members of the IT staff• Initial logical design o Create Mockups, logical diagrams, and to-be processeso Create System to system logical data mappingso Keep in mind, assess, and ensure master data considerations• Liaisono Act as a liaison between business and IT and provide clarification to questions from IT Architects and Developers as needed• Testingo Create test scenarios and test cases o Perform initial “smoke testing”o Assist business with executing test plans• Trainingo As appropriate, provide orientation and training to end users for modified and new systems.• General Functional/System Documentationo This role will be responsible for creating functional documentation for systems supported by IT. This will be accomplished by meeting with both IT and business team members.
