Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) is a quasi-government entity established by the Maryland General Assembly. It's mission is to enhance economic empowerment by fostering an inclusive and entrepreneurial innovation ecosystem by identifying, investing in, and helping to grow technology companies in Maryland.

This position will support TEDCO's core Business Intelligence processes by creating a uniform platform that provides internal and external stakeholders timely and accurate access to historical information required to make data informed forecasting and predictions, managing stakeholder expectations, training TEDCO staff and other stakeholders, and providing oversight to any third-party vendor work to improve the overall data management at TEDCO. The incumbent will work alongside various stakeholders, take initiative, and employ creative solutions to improve efficiencies within the organization's workflows and data management practices. In addition, the incumbent will interact professionally with all levels of staff and portfolio company executives.

1. Support technology enhancements across TEDCO's various departments. Responsibilities include:
   1. Work alongside various stakeholders, with another TEDCO department, or alongside a third party to suggest and onboard technology;
   2. Support the Managed Services Provider to identify necessary software licenses across TEDCO;
   3. Assessing the technology solution's impact on data collection, cleansing, storage, and visualization;
   4. Evaluate the user interfaces to understand the solution's ease of use;
   5. Champion change management communication with TEDCO's departments; and
   6. Provide training when and where needed to other TEDCO departments and various stakeholders.

1. Aid in the deployment of data through visual-based reporting software, including:
   1. Understanding reporting requirements and comparing with current reports;
   2. Manage reporting requests from TEDCO's departments to help prioritize work; and
   3. Oversee the IT (Information Technology) Management Specialist's work on the reporting platform.

1. Support individual processes across TEDCO, including:
   1. Maintaining ongoing process workflow documentation;
   2. Identify potential bottlenecks and suggest solutions; and
   3. Work with process owners to streamline steps and inputs.

1. Directly manage the IT Management Specialist role. Responsibilities include:
   1. Mentor, train, and evolve direct reports;
   2. Holding annual performance reviews;
   3. Providing constructive feedback on an ongoing basis; and
   4. Cascading work and coordinating priorities daily.

1. Champion data governance for TEDCO, including:
   1. Manage the Business Intelligence steering committee;
   2. Assess data governance current state and recommend enhancements;
   3. Oversee the data integrity check process and perform periodic audits; and
   4. Serve as a central point of contact for all matters related to data governance policies and changes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as, business administration, computer science, information technology, or another related field;
• A minimum of 3 years of Information Technology and Data Management project management experience; and
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with at least one direct report.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will directly manage the IT Management Specialist role.
