Tech Partners Hawaii is Hiring a System Administrator Near Honolulu, HI

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide technical support to a client base comprised of small & medium size businesses with a presence in Hawaii. The future team member would be based on Oahu and work from home, with the requirement to go onsite to client’s offices as required. Currently we support clients in a wide array of industries. Access to transportation is required to travel to client locations.

In our industry, and more specifically the MSP sector, it's difficult to capture all facets of a position, but we'll try our best.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • To maintain a first-class level of customer service insuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner.
  • Proficient at designing, building, migrating, and maintaining:
    • Business networks and systems, including hardware.
    • Window Servers and Active Directory, DNS.
    • Secure and redundant infrastructures, i.e. AV, firewalls, GPO, high-availability solutions.
    • Microsoft Office 365 Environments
    • Microsoft Azure Services and Solutions
  • Some other technical facets, details or requirements of the position may include, but not limited to:
    • Manage and execute projects to meet deadlines and client expectations.
    • Assist Systems Administrators on the remote and Field Tech teams.
    • Configure & manage Microsoft Server & Cloud Solutions with PowerShell expertise.
    • Administer, configure, maintain, and upgrade various Hypervisor technologies.
    • Administer and configure NAS and SAN technologies from various vendors.
    • Install, configure, and troubleshoot all network equipment, routers, firewall, switches, wireless access points, and SSL-VPN setups from various vendors, such as Meraki, pfSense, Fortnet, Unifi, Brocade, Cisco, etc.
    • Provide Disaster Recovery and backup solutions and support using Veeam, Datto, and others.
    • Diagnose and resolve unique, nonrecurring problems associated with application software and operating systems; determine the source of problems and classify their level, priority, and nature.
    • Maintain inventory of installed software, manage software licensing and create policies and procedures for upgrades.
    • Work with hardware and software vendors to verify timely product delivery and ensure that new equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule.
    • Document procedures, standards, best practices configurations, settings, installation sequences and back-out instructions.
    • Help develop and guide other systems administrators to their full potential.
  • Be available for a rotating one week on-call shift every 5-6 weeks.

Job Qualifications

This job absolutely requires the following - do not apply if you don't have:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Substantial experience with Windows Servers and desktop operating systems
  • Strong understanding of fundamental networking concepts, from the physical to application layer
  • Strong understanding of managing and configuring Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Organizational Units
  • Experience managing and maintaining Microsoft Azure and Office 365
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A drivers license and vehicle of your own and the ability to travel to client locations.

You're probably right for this job if you have:

  • 2 years technical experience relevant to the above
  • A solid and well thought out diagnostic mindset.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment (servers, computers, etc.)
  • MSP experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the ConnectWise Suite of products is helpful but not a requirement.
