JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Tech Support Specialist
Description:
The Tech Support Specialist will be the first level of technical support for students, faculty, and staff within the district. The specialist will provide one-on-one end-user support, monitor the support ticketing system, maintain computer inventories, repair/replace devices and equipment, and assist technology staff in long-term planning and implementation of new systems.
Responsibilities:
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves technical support problems for district users
- Provides one-on-one end-user problem resolution over the phone and in person
- Inventories, delivers, sets up, and assists in the configuration of end-user hardware, software and peripherals
- Performs hardware repair on computers and coordinates warranty work with vendors
- Assists with installations of local area network cabling systems and equipment
- Creates user accounts as needed
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of:
- Operating systems (iOS, Windows, ChromeOS)
- Various software applications
- Network systems and concepts
- Analytical mindset
- Personable and friendly
- Able to handle simultaneous requests from end-users
- Calm disposition while working with end-users
- Organized and detail-oriented
Preferred Skills:
- Experience providing end-user technical support
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
- A certification or equivalent experience
- Experience with Learning Management Systems, Infinite Campus, G-Suite, Microsoft Office 365
- Basic knowledge of audio-video equipment (soundboards, speakers, projectors)
- 2 or 4 year technical degree
- Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
