JOB DESCRIPTION


Title:
Tech Support Specialist


Description:

The Tech Support Specialist will be the first level of technical support for students, faculty, and staff within the district. The specialist will provide one-on-one end-user support, monitor the support ticketing system, maintain computer inventories, repair/replace devices and equipment, and assist technology staff in long-term planning and implementation of new systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves technical support problems for district users
  • Provides one-on-one end-user problem resolution over the phone and in person
  • Inventories, delivers, sets up, and assists in the configuration of end-user hardware, software and peripherals
  • Performs hardware repair on computers and coordinates warranty work with vendors
  • Assists with installations of local area network cabling systems and equipment
  • Creates user accounts as needed


Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of:
    • Operating systems (iOS, Windows, ChromeOS)
    • Various software applications
    • Network systems and concepts
  • Analytical mindset
  • Personable and friendly
    • Able to handle simultaneous requests from end-users
    • Calm disposition while working with end-users
  • Organized and detail-oriented


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience providing end-user technical support
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • A certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, Infinite Campus, G-Suite, Microsoft Office 365
  • Basic knowledge of audio-video equipment (soundboards, speakers, projectors)
  • 2 or 4 year technical degree
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
