Teach Iowa is Hiring an Elementary Teacher Near Edgewood, IA
At Edgewood Colesburg Elementary Community School District is a Leader In Me school serving preschool through sixth grade.
The Edgewood-Colesburg Community School District is seeking a lower elementary teacher beginning in August 2023. The exact assignment is yet to be determined, but a reading endorsement is preferred. Approximately 500 students attend the district K-12.
Classroom teachers will develop lessons that include direct instruction, guided practice, collaborative learning, and independent practice through a formative assessment environment. Classroom teachers are required to develop a flexible and differentiated learning environment to support the learning and personal growth of all students. The teacher will establish effective rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for middle school.
Teachers will communicate with parents and supervisors about the educational and behavioral needs of individual children. In addition to grading papers, completing report cars, teachers will provide specific feedback on each child’s performance. They will also meet with parents in one-on-one conferences.
Ed-Co is located in scenic northeast Iowa within a 70-minute drive from Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, or Waterloo.
Salary will be based on experience.
