TDX is Hiring a Mechanic (P) Near Boise, ID

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform regular and non-routine maintenance on diesel engine powered semi-trucks, heavy construction equipment, excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, pickup truck vehicles, and other heavy equipment. Under the direction of the Construction Division Manager and Equipment Manager, conduct maintenance and repairs to the trucks and equipment, ensuring that the operation/maintenance is safe, efficient, reliable, and meets the performance needs of heavy construction operation.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Responsible for preventative, protective, and repair maintenance programs diesel engine powered semi-trucks, heavy construction equipment, excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, pickup truck vehicles, and other heavy equipment.
  • Perform DOT inspections.
  • Shop building maintenance for housekeeping, Keeping workspace safe, clean, and organized.
  • Provide support to manage emergencies and special support work, such as travel/repair of trucks/equipment on the road, or on projects that need immediate attention, or any special event(s).
  • Comply with all required environmental health and safety programs.
  • Ability to lift and / or move more than 75 pounds
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Additional vocational/technical training is strongly desired.
  • Minimum five years experience in diesel equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Thorough working knowledge of principles of diesel-powered equipment maintenance and operations to include, but not limited to, hydraulics, electrical controls, electrical connections, electrical safeties, fuel systems, specifications, testing, troubleshooting, and use of all common trade tools, meters and equipment as required.
  • Ability to operate multiple pieces of heavy equipment to test, analyze, and ensure repairs have been completed for use in the field.
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent resident status required.
  • Must have a Class A or Class B CDL.
  • Must have a valid Medical Card per Dept. of Transportation (DOT) standards.
  • Must own essential tools to perform the required mechanical work.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to lift and / or move more than 75 pounds
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and comprehend schematics, technical manuals, technical drawings, etc.
  • Possess strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in fuel delivery or similar activity, including experience operating commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to use computerized diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
  • Qualified to operate a forklift, loader, and standard truck.
  • Broad knowledge in maintenance methods and practices
  • Ability to work extended work schedules or overtime as required to support operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritize schedule and order of work, and parts/materials.
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Recognizes need for confidentiality and securing of sensitive information
