WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

The Human Resources team at Chiat is a people focused team. Our team is made up of trusted confidants, performance coaches, employee experience experts, career development managers, strategic business partners and operations obsessed folks. The HR Director will thrive in a fast paced creative environment, enjoy working within a global network and excel at managing multiple priorities at one time. This is someone who is buttoned up, but has high EQ and an approachable demeanor. Reporting into the Chief Talent Officer, the HR Director will manage initiatives in the areas of employee relations, immersion, talent development and training and HR operations.

  • Strategic HR Management
    • Act as a business partner to respective client groups (Production & Account)
    • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies
    • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
    • Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations as needed
    • Provide day-to-day performance management for respective client groups and guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
    • Own the bi-annual review and merit increase process
    • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
  • Employee Experience
    • Work with the culture team to ensure employee experience is exceptional
    • Help support inclusivity agency programs and initiatives along with DEIA lead and culture team
    • Work with Recruiting, HR and IT on any HR or Recruiting tools we are implementing
    • Partner with Recruiting and our DEIA lead to continuously seek opportunities to develop and promote diverse talent within the company and to develop company-wide awareness of diversity and inclusivity (this is everyone’s job)
  • HR Best Practices
    • Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation
    • Provide guidance and input on client group restructures, workforce planning, succession planning
    • Project management on assigned HR-related projects
    • Benchmarking with corporate peers and constantly look for ways to improve overall systems, technology, policies, and keep us abreast on new rules and regulations
  • Compliance
    • Act as subject matter expert for HR polices, practices and laws; including wage and hour, timekeeping, and federal/state/local labor laws for CA
    • Proactively keep abreast of all Federal and State law changes
    • Own the pay annual pay equity analysis process
    • Adhere to Chiat’s safety standards. Serve as chair for our safety committee, work with office services to ensure OSHA compliance and act as primary covid safety lead
    • Provide periodic training to employees/managers regarding safety practices and preparedness
    • Conduct ongoing risk analysis, such as compliance with federal and state laws, regulatory agencies, and third-party clients, and advise HR Management of any high priority risks

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 10 years of a combination of performance management, employee relations and staffing management experience
  • 2 years management experience
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including performance management, employee relations, federal and state respective employment laws, organizational diagnosis and DEIA
  • Excellent consulting skills
  • Excellent conflict management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results
  • Manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels
  • Be self-directed and motivated
