Position: Technical Architect

Overview:

The Technical Architect is responsible for leading the design and development of technology solutions that align with the organization's business goals and technical requirements. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, software developers, and IT professionals, to ensure the successful delivery of scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain an understanding of the company's strategic business goals and technology needs.

• Design architectural blueprints and technical plans to achieve business outcomes, considering scalability, security, and performance.

• Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of technology solutions and frameworks.

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide AWS architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.

• Collaborate with project teams to ensure architectural guidelines are followed throughout the development lifecycle.

• Drive the adoption of AWS best practices and architectural principles, including serverless architectures, microservices, and containerization.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, including mentoring junior staff.

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, assessing their applicability to business goals and operational requirements.

• Stay ahead of the curve on AWS technologies and updates, incorporating new services and features into our cloud strategy.

• Work closely with the IT security team to ensure that technology solutions comply with data security and privacy regulations.

• Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to clarify requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

• Manage technical risks throughout the project, ensuring that they are identified, assessed, and mitigated.

• Document and maintain the architecture, including the rationale for decisions and trade-offs made.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong background in AWS cloud services, with a minimum of 5 years of experience designing and managing AWS environments.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification strongly preferred.
• Proficient in developing infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, AWS Code Build/Code Deploy) in an AWS context.
• Solid understanding of networking and security concepts within AWS, including VPCs, subnets, IAM, and security groups.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cloud transformation projects, from inception through deployment and optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to design high availability systems on AWS.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate technical details to non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
