Tango Card is Hiring a Remote Technical Program Manager (Auth)

The Job

As Tango Card continues to invest in our products and technology, we are seeking the right people to help lead and hone development areas! We're seeking a Technical Program Manager to do just that.

In this role (which sits in the Engineering department) you will develop a roadmap and have a high degree of ownership in critical features. The role is cross-functional —you will work closely with Product, UX, software engineering, and other stakeholders.

A successful candidate should be able to manage the tactical delivery tasks while simultaneously driving strategic planning for forward-looking initiatives.

Reports To: Chief Technology Officer

As Technical Program Manager at Tango Card, you will:

  • Develop and execute a SCRUM team’s roadmap in close coordination with Product Management.
  • Fulfill the role of Product Owner in standups, sprint planning, and reviews.
  • Construct and prioritize user stories and other requirement artifacts and build a development timeline.
  • Facilitate technical design and track dependencies on domains in our platform.
  • Proactively identify and resolve risks that may impair the team's ability to meet goals.
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs amongst multiple work streams and domain areas.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver the best experience for our customers.

To be effective in our Technical Program Manager role, you must have:

  • Experience in Agile software design, development, and release practices
  • Experience leading multiple projects successfully in the same period
  • 3 years’ experience in programming for a cloud-based software product
  • 2 years’ experience with cloud infrastructure and technologies (AWS preferred)
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with building complex, highly scalable cloud-based systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present clearly to all levels of management.
  • The ability to be self-directed. You're comfortable working effectively in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
  • A high level of professionalism, able to utilize good judgment and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to participate effectively and influence multi-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices, including agile, build processes, testing, SaaS, and operations.
  • Agility and adaptability to roll with shifting priorities, needs, and technologies.
  • Ability to lead meetings and craft and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines, working collaboratively with geographically distributed teams.

Our ideal Technical Program Manager at Tango Card will have most of the following skills and experience:

  • 2 years’ experience as Technical Program Manager of a cloud-based software product
  • Experience in distributed systems development, including tools and processes
  • Experience in high-volume, transaction-based technology business
