A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst I will be responsible for the assessment and accounting of all new and existing technical accounting matters. This role will interact closely with members of accounting, finance, and internal audit teams, as well as independent auditors to ensure accurate reporting and full compliance with all external standards. This role will also be involved in the month end close and be required to perform financial analyses and other ad hoc projects when necessary.

• Perform monthly warranty liability calculation. Utilize business intelligence tool or excel model to analyze trends based on historical data. Work closely with the operations department to understand the actual results and projected outcome. Establish warranty dashboard and communicate warranty trends to upper management.
• Review new lease agreements or lease amendments. Maintain ASC842 lease accounting schedules and record monthly lease accounting entries.
• Manage current expected loss credit loss calculation to ensure reasonability of accrual.
• Assist in understanding, documenting, and properly accounting for the Company’s stock-based compensation associated with stock options, RSU and ESPP.
• Perform additional general accounting support in the month end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations as requested.
• Perform technical accounting research as needed and prepare memos documenting conclusions and proper accounting treatment. Interact with external auditors with respect to accounting conclusions reached.
• Assess the accounting implications of new accounting pronouncements and establish a process for frequent and appropriate communication to key stakeholders.
• Prepare various audit schedules and engage with outside auditors to provide requested information during audit periods.
• Train members of the accounting team on the applicability, implementation and ongoing activities associated with new accounting pronouncements.
• Maintain the Company’s accounting policy manual.

YOU’RE AWESOME AT:

• Strong knowledge of GAAP including experience performing research on technical accounting issues.
• Strong data analytic skills, experience with BI tools, such as Power BI, Tableau preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP systems. Microsoft AX and Management Reporter experience preferred. 
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills. Work experience with large volumes of data in Excel utilizing advanced functions such as v-lookup, pivot tables, formulas, model building.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA and/or Masters’ in Accounting preferred.
• 5 plus years of progressive accounting experience required.
• 2 plus years of public accounting experience preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $95 - 105k. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.
