Title: Designer

Location: Pawleys Island, SC (in-person)

What you’ll be doing: 

• Prepare civil design/construction plans, including notes and details, plan and profile sheets, and x-sections
• Create and submit project permitting packages 
• Prepare construction cost estimates 
• Develops and drafts engineering drawings and plans, drafts contract documents and generates correspondence for clients and managers
• Performs a range of special projects related to design as per requirement

• Performs fieldwork, documentation, research and drafting tasks of engineering data as requested by clients or managers
• Maintains dynamic communication with contractors, clients, and the general public for any architectural, engineering or construction issues 
• Perform water/sewer/stormwater design calculations and reporting for commercial, residential and municipal projects
• Prepare contract documents suitable for bidding
• Perform related tasks associated with this position as may be assigned

• Light travel may be required

What you’ll need to succeed: 

• 2 years college with math, engineering, science discipline (certificate preferred)
• 3 years of experience in the civil engineering field

• Experience in site grading, layout, drainage, water, sewer, earthwork and sediment control for civil site design
• Functionally proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word 
• Experience in using design and modeling software is a plus (AutoCAD, ICPR, WaterCAD/EPAnet, StormCAD) 
• Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently or on a team
• Ability to work within budget and schedule constraints on multiple projects simultaneously

• Proficient written & oral communication skills; ability to interact with peers, clients and public
