The May Institute is currently seeking a Staff Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Manager, who will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. Responsibilities: Update, post and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and ensure that reconciliations are completed as scheduled.Reconcile Rep payee accounts to ensure compliance with Social Security requirements.Reconcile and post monthly cash receipts transactions for Lockbox, ACH, and credit cards for assigned companies Analyze financial information and summarize financial status. Assist in preparation of monthly and annual financial statementsAssist with annual external audits to ensure compliance. Prepare audit schedules as needed Support month-end and year-end close process.Provide support to the Accounts Payable team as needed. Perform other duties as directed by Accounting Manager and Controller. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required. One to five years of accounting experience is required Proficiency in Great Plains Dynamics or equivalent ERP system desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Excel) is required. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants, clients, support personnel and upper management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. #IND2
