Talantage, LLC is Hiring a Payroll Administrator Near Atlanta, GA

Summary

The Payroll Administrator position is responsible for the preparation and disbursement of payroll for employees on a biweekly basis. The role serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers for support throughout the payroll process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation and processing of biweekly payroll; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions and adherence to FLSA
  • Process and transmit all payroll changes submitted by employees and Company, (W4, new hires, budget center, termination's, direct deposit, benefit changes, address changes, etc.) to payroll service provider for processing of checks and registers on a timely basis
  • Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, budget and others departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g. overtime, leave balances, headcount and retirement contribution reports)
  • Serve as subject matter expert for employee self-service module and time and attendance. Provide funding information to cover payroll costs; reconcile payroll output against input documents; submit payroll register and checks for approval and signature; distribute payroll checks in a timely manner. Manage general ledger interface reconciliation as required
  • Generate check requests for payroll deductions (i.e. garnishments, child support, etc.); reconcile and report Defined Benefit contributions semi‑monthly; generate download of payroll files in accordance with reporting requirements and submit in a timely manner; update employee count monthly; furnish information to finance as required
  • Handle the administration of the electronic time keeping system. Monitor submissions of approved timesheets, ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll service. Prepare input for computerized payroll systems. Review changes to the basic payroll file and process corrections.
  • Establish/maintain employee payroll records
  • Generate special reports and specific management requests
  • Support HR/Payroll projects as assigned

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience required. Knowledge of labor laws, state tax laws, and IRS regulations is essential.
  • 3 years of direct bi-weekly or monthly payroll processing for approximately 300 employee base.
  • 3 years of experience with Workday (Payroll)
  • 5 – 7 years of payroll administration experience

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Analytical and superior attention to detail, with the ability to locate resources and research and respond to questions timely
  • Microsoft office including excel
  • Experience with HRIS, Workday background MUST
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with an emphasis on customer service
  • Must be able to interface with all levels of company employees
  • Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position
  • Must demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll system
  • Must maintain confidential information and records and work independently in absence of manager

Working Conditions

Works in an office environment. May require frequent bending, stooping, reaching and prolonged sitting. May require regular lifting usually not exceeding 20 lbs.
