Talantage, LLC is Hiring a Licensed Psychologist Near Portersville, CA

POSITION SUMMARY: The Psychologist is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating psychological services in an assigned treatment/habilitation program of substantial scope, or for performing comparable work of a specialized and complex nature in psychological programs which are more limited in respect to size or function. Work includes responsibility for behavioral, developmental, or clinical aspects of diagnosis, prognosis, habilitation, rehabilitation, and treatment of clients, and may involve supervision of professional and technical psychology and/or counseling staff. The psychologist determines the specific methods of studying problems and analyzes the results. Caseload is subject to general review by an administrative or professional superior, leaving considerable latitude for independent judgment and discretion in accordance with facility policies.

This is advanced professional and/or supervisory psychological work involving responsibilities for assessment and therapeutic applications.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following eligibility requirements:

Possession of a doctoral degree from an accredited university with major specialization in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school or educational psychology; and completion of one year of post-doctoral psychology experience under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.

Possession of a current license as a psychologist in the State of California will substitute for the required education and experience qualifications. A temporary or provisional license does not satisfy this qualification, substitution or the licensure requirement as stated below.

Job Duties

  • Develops, implements and coordinates psychological services in an assigned treatment/habilitation program of substantial scope.
  • Administers, scores, interprets and prepares reports of intellectual, psychoneurological, and personality assessments.
  • Formulates and presents diagnostic and treatment plan recommendations for review during interdisciplinary treatment team meetings; participates as an active member of the treatment team, and may function as a team leader/coordinator.
  • Conducts psychological interventions using a wide variety of theoretical models for remediating psychological and behavioral problems; consults with other staff members concerning problem areas, and provides parent training, and individual, family or group therapy.
  • Serves as a member of various facility committees.
  • Participates in and conducts staff and community-oriented workshops concerning facility programs and services.
  • Conducts pretrial examinations of accused individuals, prepares pretrial psychological evaluations and reports findings to appropriate court officials.
  • Provides consultation services concerning psychological programs to other state or community agencies.
  • Supervises psychology interns, practicum students, other psychology staff and volunteers.
  • Consults with other facility staff in planning and conducting psychological research projects; prepares articles for publication pertaining to these studies.
  • Collects and analyzes client-based data concerning intervention programs to improve quality of services.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

  • Considerable knowledge of psychodiagnostic and psychotherapeutic theories and techniques, such as behavior modification, individual or group therapy.
  • Considerable knowledge of the biological bases of behavior, such as sensation and perception.
  • Considerable knowledge of the cognitive-affective bases of behavior, such as learning, thinking, motivation and emotion.
  • Considerable knowledge of individual, family and group counseling techniques.
  • Considerable knowledge of the social bases of behavior, such as the psychology of interpersonal relationships, group processes, and organizational and systems theory.
  • Considerable knowledge of psychological assessment and measurement techniques.
  • Considerable knowledge of individual differences, such as personality theory, human development, and abnormal psychology.
  • Working knowledge of the scientific methods and procedures of understanding, predicting and influencing human behavior, such as statistics, experimental design and psychometrics.
  • Ability to administer and interpret complex psychological examinations.
  • Ability to develop, implement and coordinate psychological services in an assigned treatment/habilitation program.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional and other staff, clients, their families and the general public.
  • Ability to conduct individual and group interventions.
  • Ability to supervise psychology associates and other staff.
  • Ability to prepare psychological summaries and other reports as required.
