Position Summary

The Business Solutions Analyst plays a critical role in translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications that will drive the development and quality assurance testing for system(s) implementations. This is temp to permanent position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Partner with business analysts, business leads, and various other parts of the organization to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Play a critical role on the organization's IT’s Agile/Scrum team as a development team member through requirements gathering and other functions as needed.
  • Define and document new and updated system configurations.
  • Organize and/or lead small groups to resolve business problems or resolve complex business problems individually.
  • Support annual audit requirements, furnishing and maintaining supporting artifacts.
  • Participate in project planning activities.
  • Consults with the business and advises on out of the box application functionality and usability to meet business requirements
  • Provides general support for the business during user acceptance testing
  • Provides level 2 support on production system issues (following level 1 support from the Application Support team); Assesses and involves 3rd party vendors in troubleshooting and issue resolution when needed.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed:
    • Business Requirements
    • Functional requirements
    • Use Cases
  • GUI and Interface design documentation (when needed)
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Experience using enterprise-wide requirements definition methodologies and management systems methodologies.
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including, but not limited to executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Improves systems by studying current practices and designing or proposing modifications.
  • Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential (when needed and as appropriate).
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements 

  • Innovation, critical and creative thinking ability.
  • Maintains effective communication with management and project teams to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Results driven and possess sound judgment, business analysis, and systems review skills.
  • Attention to detail and a sound understanding of business process design.
  • Extremely well organized to meet specific project deadlines.
  • Success in translating business requirements and user expectations into detailed functional and technical requirements.
  • Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Waterfall, Rational Unified Process (RUP), and Agile methodologies.
  • Proficient in the use of tools such as MS Office, MS Visio, and Team Foundation Server (TFS) strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of application programming, database and system design for data transmission via SQL, FTP, SFTP, and web-service applications.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint 2010 required.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors in computer science, engineering, business administration or other relevant degree preferred, along with 3 - 5 years of related experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One or more years of progressive experience with systems planning and analysis.
  • Experience in conducting joint application design (JAD) sessions, rapid application design (RAD) sessions and requirements elicitation interviews.
  • Experience working with Agile (Scrum) project team development environments preferred
  • Experience in conducting GAP analysis and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Experience with documenting use case scenarios and other technical artifacts for projects
  • SciQuest, Workday, Yardi Voyager, and Efforts To Outcome (ETO) knowledge preferred
  • Experience with SharePoint workflow solutions, SharePoint Designer and/or Nintex

Working Conditions:
Works in an office environment with high utilization of computers. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must have a valid State of Georgia license.
