Job Description The Corporate Accounting Manager will assist with the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Accounting Department, inclusive of single family residential and multifamily investment properties. Additionally, the position will interact with all levels of the organization to address key performance improvement opportunities specifically in the areas of accounting and financial reporting. Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close, including oversight of the monthly and quarterly close calendar Assist with the annual audit process including responding to audit inquiries and PBC’s, preparation or review of requested documents and testing of internal controls Manage the quarterly/annual SOX process including gathering and providing support and samples as requested by the SOX team Review various monthly and quarterly schedules due to Corporate Reporting team. Direct and review balance sheet account and bank reconciliations Identify opportunities and lead the implementation of changes to drive improvements and efficiencies. Enforce proper internal controls Prepare analytical financial reports to assist with month-end, quarter end and year-end reporting requirement Lead a team of accountants to develop their skills in accordance with needs of the company and provide accounting and technical guidance. Oversee and support the payroll manager and related payroll functions including review and approval of biweekly payroll file. Review and approve journal entries. Plan and direct Corporate Accounting project activities with the accountability for successful completion of all project deliverables to the business within established schedule, scope and quality objectives. Oversees cash functions including bank account setup and maintenance, bank account admin function, bank relationship management, approval of wire transfers, management of daily banking requirements and cash position and maintaining proper funding of all bank accounts. Manage and oversee the company’s construction projects including the submittal of monthly draw requests Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year, monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff. Work with executive/senior management on special projects Perform back-up duties as necessary Qualifications: Ability to handle multiple projects, work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and strive well in a fast-paced work environment Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills Team player – someone who works towards team goals and achievements Exceptional research, analytical and critical thinking skills Strong attention to detail and well organized Self-starter - ability to work independently, prioritize and multitask Dependable, highly motivated, team player with a strong work ethic Minimum Requirements: Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles 3 years of personnel supervisory and leadership experience 5 years property management/real estate experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance CPA required Big 4 CPA Firm Audit Experience preferred Knowledge of Yardi and Microsoft D365 would be a plus Advanced knowledge of Excel; proficient in other Microsoft Office programs At Tricon Residential, we know that the best ideas happen when people bring their uniqueness to work with them.
