Tactical Engineering Analysis is Hiring a Remote System Administrator

Overview

We are currently seeking a System Administrator to support the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC-PAC) Joint Test and Evaluation (JT&E) Programs.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience in System Administration (Intermediate - Advanced), implementation of Windows and UNIX/Linux installation, configuration, and maintenance, in accordance with appropriate DoD policies and processes.
  • Prepares documentation for Risk Management Framework (RMF) and attainment of ATO including IATT and IATO.
  • Supports system administration of Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) and Naval Networks to include SDREN, SWAN, RDTE, NMCI SIPR, JWICS
  • Configures and manages Virtual Machines, Cisco servers, Cisco Codec VTC systems, Thinklogic KVM and other KVMs, Crypto Gear and Various A/V equipment in support of project operations.
  • Applies network engineer knowledge and experience; to include network infrastructure design, installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Advises on design and implementation of a software & network infrastructure software development environment that deploys physical and virtual machines.
  • Independently provides support with implementation requirements of the Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Certification & Accreditation (C&A) processes (e.g. STIGs, SCAPs).
  • Administers and manages IA Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA), and security Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) mitigations through timely assessment of IAVA notices and POA&M corrective actions.

Equipment Used:

  • Laptop Computer and peripheral equipment

Typical Working Conditions:

  • General office environment with USG provided NMCI Computer and peripheral equipment
  • TEA Corporate laptop will be provided at the discretion of Executive Management 

 Essential Physical Tasks:

  • Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Possibility of Domestic and International travel up to 15% of the time by automobile, air, etc.
  • Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis. 

Written Communications:

  • Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively with a high degree of competency.
  • Independently generates documentation that presents information in a logical mann

Verbal Communications:

  • Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
  • Active communicator - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Able to prepare documentation for Risk Management Framework (RMF) and attainment of ATO including IATT and IATO.

Customer Interface Activities:

  • Uses independent discretion to develop an effective client to customer communication process involving stakeholder identification, planned communication, efficient information distribution, and managing expectations.

Work Schedule:

  • 9/80 
  • Able to efficiently adapt to new priorities. This includes effectively multitasking project responsibilities with an awareness to support changes as needed. The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Desired Bachelors Degree in technical field (e.g. Information Systems, Information Technolgy, Computer Science, EE)
  • High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant experience

Required Certifications:

  • DoD approved IAT Level II Baseline Certification
    • Security CE
    • Linux (CompTIA)
    • CCNA-Security
    • CCNP Security
    • Windows OS

Salary: $110,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually, DOE. 

U.S. Citizenship is required

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active TS/SCI security clearance is highly desirable.
