Overview

We are seeking a SCRUM Master to lead a diverse groups of scientists, engineers and administrative professionals working surface weapon system development in the design, implementation and transition of systems engineering efforts to use Scrum methodology. They will be responsible for working directly with the government customer and prime developers to create a dymanic environment fostering inovation and improved efficiency through the use of Agile methods.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

• The ability to lead / work as a member of a team composed of a diverse group of technically skilled scientists, engineers and administrative professionals with varied levels of experience.
  • Designing and implementing a transition plan for the systems engineering team to use a Scrum Methodology
  • Communication with government POCs on the plan and progress status
  • Providing Agile and Scrum training to team members
  • Providing mentoring/coaching to Scrum teams
  • Works with the Product Owner on long-term release planning
  • Performs as a Scrum Master, as needed, for one of more Scrum Teams

Equipment Used:

• USG provided NMCI Computer and peripheral equipment
• TEA Corporate laptop will be provided at the discretion of Executive Management

Typical Working Conditions:

• General office environment

Essential Physical Tasks:

• Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
• Possibility of Domestic travel up to 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc.
• Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.

Written Communications:

• Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word andExcel) effectively with a high degree of competency.

Verbal Communications:

• Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
• Active communicator - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.

Customer Interface Activities:

• Uses independent discretion to develop an effective client to customer communication process involvingstakeholder identification, planned communication, efficient information distribution, and managingexpectations.

Project Management:

• Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills with a proven ability at making teams successful, with the ability to grow scrum team professionals.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

• Minimum Two (2) or more years’ experience mentoring or coaching multiple Scrum Teams.
• Experience transitioning a team to a Scrum Methodology from a non-Agile Methodology.

• Bachelor of Science in

  • Information Tech
  • Software Development
  • Software Engineering

Certification/Licenses:

• Scrum Master Certified or Higher

U.S. Citizenship is required

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
