Overview

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct studies to identify candidates for process improvement by eliciting the voice of the process, business, customer, and employee. 
• Recommend process improvements to leadership based on qualitative and quantifiable objective data compiled during studies. 
• Plan, organize, and lead process improvement projects. 
• Document the benefits of improvements to the organization. 

Travel

• This position includes a low level of travel.

Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Professional certification or degree in Process Improvement. Additional relevant experience may be substituted.
• Three years of experience driving significant improvement in processes, productivity, and quality. 
• Experience rapidly improving quality, reducing lead time, improving on-time delivery, and reducing overall costs.
• Experience developing, evaluating, documenting, and improving business processes. 
• Experience with tools and techniques to identify areas for improvement including value stream mapping, STOW analysis, statistical process control, and the DMAIC problem-solving process. 
• Experience planning, organizing, and leading process improvement projects. 
• Experience mapping and documenting current business processes. 
• Prior Navy or DoD experience is desired.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification desired. 

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations on base.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently traverse stairs.
• Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling.
• Reaching, handling, using equipment, keyboards, and mobile devices.
• Lifting boxes (files and supplies) up to 20 lbs.
