E-Commerce Specialist

The Synergy Company is hiring an E-Commerce Specialist to join our Marketing Department, reporting to the Director of Marketing Operations. As part of a small and nimble marketing team, this role will have duties that span across various sales channels, marketing platforms, and marketing tactics. Marketing Operations is an integral function within the Marketing Department that includes the people, processes, data, and technology that support our overall marketing activities and growth goals, primarily via E-Commerce. This role may be based in Moab, UT or in Boulder, CO, with a primary schedule of Monday - Friday, 9 A.M. to 5P.M, with additional hours as required. Some flexibility in hours and some hybrid work is acceptable.

This position is an exempt, salaried role with a pay range of $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year, depending on qualifications.

About the Role

The E-Commerce Specialist role at The Synergy Company is expected to have a direct impact on our growth goals and deliver on our purpose, spanning responsibilities over our website, our Amazon presence, as well as digital advertising, data analytics, and evolution of our marketing technology and infrastructure.

E-Commerce – Amazon & Shopify

  • Assist in the management of our D2C branded website, including but not limited to: PDP and other content updates, campaign and promotional activity, CRO, new product launches, merchandising, site optimization, and subscriber program management in alignment with our brand and growth goals.
  • Provide daily oversight of our Amazon account as part of a cross-functional internal team to enable growth goals, responsible for ensuring account health, listing and backend updates, administering promotional activity, troubleshooting and case management, unauthorized seller management, as well as contributing to inventory optimization with the Operations team, and integrating with Amazon consumer communications via our customer care team.
  • For both platforms, monitor search terms and ensure SEO optimization, lead A/B testing, track to key metrics, keep current with best practices, and provide recommendations for improvements based upon competition, best practices, performance, and evolving business objectives.
  • Assist in oversight of all demand generation and digital marketing activities across platforms, including SEO/SEM, CRM, social media, and display advertising.
  • Work closely with agency partners, with the intent to grow into the role of key point of contact responsible for agency relations and results.

Marketing Data & Technology

  • Assist in the development and tracking of KPIs and data dashboards, quantifying the impact of marketing campaigns and other initiatives, and providing strategic insights to drive growth and performance.
  • Assist with reviewing, interpreting, and sharing user behavior analysis, sales trends, and changes in performance by channel, category, and SKU, to inform marketing and sales opportunities, strategies, and tactics.
  • Perform analyses and communicate resulting data-driven insights and recommendations to non-technical audiences through clear visualizations and presentations, primarily for improving the customer experience and resulting CLTV and sales performance.
  • Provide back-end administration of marketing technology suite and eCommerce platforms.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, E-Commerce, advertising, or similar; or high school degree or GED equivalency with demonstrated, related work experience.
  • Highly organized; high degree of accuracy, flexibility, and ability to juggle competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in E-Commerce administration and best practices, including Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, and Google Analytics.
  • Experience with digital advertising, SEM, SEO.
  • Experience with measurement and reporting of marketing, customer, and sales information.
  • Aptitude for learning and utilizing a range of technologies and applications, including E-Commerce platforms and analytics tools, web applications, data warehouse and BI tools, marketing automation tools, email marketing tools such as Klaviyo.
  • Results-oriented, with ability to connect the dots between areas of responsibility and drive to outcomes, including achieving sales targets and fulfillment of purpose.
  • Strong user of Google and Microsoft suite of office products and similar productivity tools.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive team dynamic as part of a high-performing team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agency, management consulting, and/or CPG brand-based E-Commerce experience working with D2C channels, specifically Shopify and Amazon.
  • Project management experience a plus.
  • An orientation towards continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to assess for patterns and trends, derive measures of ROI, identify cause & effect relationships, with ability to tie back to business objectives.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and ability to use Excel or business intelligence / data dashboarding tool(s) for translating data into informational visuals and ‘storytelling.’

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Some work may be conducted remotely via technology. Workers may occasionally be exposed to sound and distracting noise levels from office equipment or coworkers. This position may require extended periods of sitting/ standing and involves sedentary work. Workers may need to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This position requires frequent repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers are required. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: viewing a computer terminal, preparing and analyzing data and figures, and extensive reading
