MULTIMEDIA PRODUCER

Reports To

Senior Marketing Manager

Manages

None

Summary/Objective

What sets us apart from competitors is how we go about our work – and there’s no better way to demonstrate it than by showing it. As our company’s photographer and videographer, you will be responsible for capturing footage that can be woven into compelling narratives that highlight our expertise, culture, projects, people, and operations. Footage may include step-by-step or before and after photographs, timelapse effects, drone footage, 360 degree photo or video, etc. for use across a range of channels (social media, website, email, newsletter, etc.).

Since much of the content will be focused on technical elements of the building process (and often entails visiting job sites), it’s important that you are comfortable on a construction site, that you can effectively communicate and coordinate with site personnel ahead of time so, on the day of shooting, you know where to be and how to capture footage without getting in anyone’s way or slowing operations down. You’ll need to keep up with what’s going on in the field and build rapport across all departments.

Oftentimes, we won’t know exactly what you should be capturing in the shop or on the job site – that will be your job to figure out. Get out there and see what’s “cool” – what innovative approach did we take? What was a unique or particularly challenging aspect of this job, and how was it resolved? What makes this project special? Did we bring some benefit to the project?

You’ll need to be like an investigator – not afraid to ask questions, be resourceful, and get into a project’s details to uncover a compelling narrative – but in a way that’s minimally disruptive to others. You will also weave in documents, renderings, and other media, as well as incorporating interviews with team members and testimonials from project leaders. You should be able to draft brief descriptions of the project information or narrative you are capturing for the rest of the team to build upon. Attention to detail and accuracy will be key in this role.

You will primarily work from our company headquarters in Elkridge, MD though, as our projects are located throughout the United States, this job will entail a fair amount of travel. As part of the marketing team, you will have other assignments as requested. These may include things like building our photo/video database, coordinating events and materials, script writing, reaching out to clients to acquire professional photography of completed works, obtaining photo approvals, and other special projects as assigned by marketing. The work we do generates a lot of footage, so you’ll need to be extremely organized.

Primary Responsibilities/Functions

  1. Documenting project building processes from start to finish with various projects happening at the same time (such as before and after photos/videos, video walkthroughs, drone video, completed project and client testimonial videos).

  8. Communicating & working directly with field personnel, such as site supervisors and shop fabricators, to gather information, coordinate logistics, keep on top of project timelines for opportunities to film/photograph, and conduct internal interviews.
  9. Reviewing project documentation to gather information and supplementary materials crucial to building a comprehensive narrative.
