Synechron Consulting is seeking a Data Architect: The ideal candidate will possess a blend of business and technical savvy, with a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality. This role involves close collaboration with IT and Business professionals at all levels within the organization. This position requires a self-starter who is hard working and detail oriented with great analytical skills and can effectively identify opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Define data architecture capabilities and assess maturity across the organization, including quality, modeling etc.
• Assess information architecture maturity with industry-accepted data architecture principles and standards. Identify gaps and drive towards standardization and adoption across the organization for modelling, security, quality, metadata, among others.
• Evaluate and assess data and application integration framework
• Identify master data management opportunities and needs
• Define the target state and drive implementation of data catalog to enable effective data governance
• Establish maps of business capability to data, services, users-roles, IT product model mapping
• Develop and analyze various viewpoints, mappings to show relationships between data artifacts and business capability/attributes
• Interaction with the Data & Engineering and IT Delivery teams to drive standardization across data architecture principles
• Act as bridge between various enterprise teams and collaborate across teams and architects
• Analyze process, and provide guidance to streamline and optimize data enablement, operational, communication and training or literacy processes
• Creating, defining, or choosing a consistent data storage solutions for the applications
• Provide continuity in all major application solution decisions
• Foundation in systems development: the data architect should understand the system development life cycle; software project management approaches; and requirements, design, and test techniques.
• Depth in data modeling and database design: This is the core skill of the data architect, and the most requested in data architect job descriptions. The effective data architect is sound across all phases of data modeling, from conceptualization to database optimization.
• Essential foundation for improvement of data estate, enables IT Teams to align the technology strategy
• Ability to conceive and portray the big data picture: The data architect maps the systems and interfaces used to manage data, sets standards for data management, analyzes current state and conceives desired future state, and conceives projects needed to close the gap between current state and future goals.
• Ability to work under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment while developing and maintaining long term supportive relationships

Requirements:

• Broad technical and data architecture background
• Senior information architect consultant with prior experience as a data/information architect or data delivery experience, preferably greater than 10 years
• Bachelor's Degree
• Financial services experience would be a plus
• Experience with industry accepted data architecture principles and standards and integration within organizations
• Should have performed data definition & data architecture assessment, and align to system artifacts
• Should have worked across the enterprise interacting with business partners and Engineering teams to enable data architecture landscape
• Experience with data cataloging tools, BI technologies, big data platforms etc.
• Great verbal and written communication skills and team player
• Self-starter and ability to work in a matrix organization
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and work towards bringing clarity
• Persuasion skills to align teams around a common construct – data architecture framework & capabilities
• Deep understanding of the data architecture, integration and various industry frameworks
