Description:
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians with clerical duties, patient flow, patient care, and procedures.
Essential Job functions:
- Assists with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
- Assists in escorting patients.
- Ensure chart is available, with relevant lab work and test reports if indicated, for a physician when the physician sees the patient. Assists physicians with procedures.
- Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient leaves and prepared for the next patient.
- Obtains vital signs: BP, temp, pulse, height & weight accurately and completely as required.
- Documents appropriately in EHR. Documenting H&P, ROS, PE, and vitals.
- Provide patient education throughout patient visits including medication, surgical, and aftercare instructions.
- Answers the telephone in an appropriate manner. Directs calls and/or takes accurate messages.
- Effectively communicates problems, concerns, or issues to the Supervisor and/or Manager appropriately and promptly.
Physical Job Requirements:
- Physical mobility, ability to stand for long periods of time, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account.
- Physical agility, which includes the ability to maneuver the body while in place.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers.
- Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking).

Pay: $20.00 per hour.
