Symbria is Hiring a Software Engineer II Near Warrenville, IL

Overview

Symbria is searching for our next Software Engineer II as we expand our development team. This will be a remote role.

As our next Software Engineer II, employee-owner team member, you would be responsible for contributing to the design and implementation of internal software solutions, applications, and integrations to support Symbria’s day-to-ienday operation. This requires the ability to independently complete projects and tasks from start to finish, with limited assistance from senior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of Symbria’s software products and third-party vendor software solutions.
  • Working with product managers and other stakeholders to get clarification on business requirements and then implementing solutions, including: code development, UI/UX design, and documentation.
  • Participate and/or lead in design discussions, produce project designs as needed.
  • Ensuring product functionality and high-quality solutions by implementing unit tests, integration tests, load and acceptance tests.
  • Provide level-2 support for the helpdesk troubleshooting support requests and/or identifying and resolving software defects.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Periodically perform installations of software upgrades during off business hours.
  • Account for and track time spent on tasks accurately and diligently.
  • Any and all duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, extensive reading, and consistently operates a computer.
  • Commonly communicates with managers and staff. Must be able to professionally exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Sedentary, light work with ability to exert and/or lift to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary and the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient (3 years of experience)in any of the following programming languages: Java, C#, JavaScript, Groovy, Kotlin.
  • Experience developing web applications using any of the following frameworks/technologies: Webservices (REST and SOAP), OAuth, Angular, React, Spring. With a strong understanding of automated build tools.
  • Extensive hands-on experience creating custom UI controls, consuming RESTful and Real-time APIs, designing protocols, implementing service workers, animations, and performance optimizations.
  • Experience working and developing in a cloud environment (GCP, Microsoft Azure, AWS)
  • Hands on experience using version control systems. (GitHub, Gitlab)
  • Proficient knowledge of infrastructure automation tool. (Terraform)
  • Proficient knowledge of relational databases and SQL (writing and analyzing queries).
  • Proficient knowledge of code quality and coverage tools. (SonarCloud, SonarQube, CodeCov)
  • Proficient knowledge working with workflow automation platforms. (Apache AirFlow, n8n)
  • Familiarity with setting up and using an Integrated Development Environment.
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  • Full Stack software engineer
  • Working experience using business process automation tools.
  • Working experience using business intelligence tools (PowerBI).
  • System administration experience.
  • Experience in any of the following technologies and scripts is highly preferred: HL7, ERx, NCPDP and other Healthcare interfaces.
  • Healthcare industry experience.
