Teaching Assistant - Sylvan Learning of San Francisco

This part-time position at our Learning Center is a chance for you to develop your leadership skills in an education setting. You will gain exposure to many facets of our successful business operation while helping a diverse set of students grow and learn. Experienced team in place to support your training and development!

Key responsibilities:

• Create an instructional environment that is engaging, productive and fun
• Make sure all students are fully engaged in their tutoring sessions
• Tutor students as needed (training provided!)
• Act as liaison between students, tutoring staff and management team
• Support tutoring staff, making sure they have whatever they need to deliver their best instruction
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, clutter-free instructional space
• Partner with the center management team to support center operations, as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required – exceptions may be made for mature college upperclassmen
• Organized problem solver
• Professional but caring demeanor
• Enjoys working with children and teenagers
• Strong multi-tasker able to manage both the big picture and the details
• Bonus points for prior tutoring or classroom experience
• Punctuality and reliability are essential!

This is a part-time, hourly position. Hours are MTTh 3:15 – 7:45 pm plus W 2:15 – 6:45 pm. Please only apply if you can accommodate this schedule.

Hourly rate is $19-20/hr DOE
