Project Manager

**REMOTE CANDIDATES IN MOUNTAIN AND EASTERN TIME ZONES WILL BE PREFERRED**

Switchfly is hiring a Project Manager in Engineering department to influence and inspire change in our organization. The mission of the engineering team is to revolutionize the shopping experience in the travel industry by offering a carefully designed UI with cross-device (desktop and mobile) support in a SaaS platform. A cross-functional partnership is deeply meaningful to us. Building partnerships between internal teams and with our clients will be key to your success. If solving the problems of customers from the highest-level executive to the lowest-level travel agent gets you excited, this is a great role for you.

Responsibilities:  

  • The PMO lead is expected to use a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, complex, mission-critical, enterprise-level projects and with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability. 
  • Project and Program Management – ability to manage multiple rapid delivery of complex projects in a fast-paced environment, that meet client timing, budget expectations, and quality standards. Develop scopes of work and change orders are necessary. 
  • Strategic Focus – in partnership with business team members, identify and execute strategic client solutions. 
  • Achieve the project goals within designated project constraints 
  • Business Acumen - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Liaison between technical team, non-technical team members, and clients. 
  • Capacity Planning – building timelines and working with the teams to schedule and prioritize the work while maintaining capacity level agreements. 
  • Impact Analysis & Escalation – effectively communicates impacts of changes, risks and issues; works with team to resolve and/or recommend solutions to management team. Program level tracking of budget vs. actuals for projects/teams. 
  • Leadership Skills – ability to mentor, coach and delegate project activities to other team members. Provide feedback (positive and improvement opportunities). Develop SMART goals for team members. Responsible for all aspects of employee performance. 
  • Technical Acumen – understands all aspects of workflows and processes. Accountable for PMO templates, process documentation, workflows. 

What you will bring to the team.  

  • Proven track record of delivering products, preferably in the travel and/or enterprise eCommerce space. 
  • Proven ability to develop effective, matrixed, cross-organization relationships, collaborating and communicating across business and technology stakeholders and multiple geographies 
  • Success in developing program/project level artifacts to support a major software implementation program with concurrent releases 
  • Success in agile delivery, including use of tools like JIRA 
  • Deep experience with communicating up to executive leadership 
  • Experience using data and analytics to help make decisions on your programs 

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of project management experience
  • Bachelor’s in information technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with agile process is a must.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and experience with international solutions development projects
  • Good analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Drive to excel and result orientation
  • Excellent communication skills
