Sweet Candy Company is Hiring a Sanitation Technician Near SALT LAKE CITY, UT

Description

The Sanitation Technician is accountable for maintaining the highest level of cleanliness throughout the facility. With direction this person will juggle an array of daily tasks including but not limited to: Plant floor care duties, handling of plant waste streams, assisting on scheduled work orders, operating of industrial tray wash machine, and stocking of basic supplies throughout the plant. This role requires regular communication with peers and management, and must always carry themselves in a professions manner.

Essential Functions:

•Is present and on-time for scheduled shift to ensure appropriate and timely support of facility operations

•ALWAYS works safely, follows all safety protocols, and ensures team does the same so all our people go home in the same condition in which they arrived

•Organizes items passing through the wash area so that allergen cross contamination does not occur

•Maintains and operates the industrial washer for top efficiency and cleanliness

•Conducts systematic inspection and testing of items that were cleaned/sanitized ensuring nothing goes out to the production floor unless it is ready for food contact

•Documents processes, tests, results, etc as required

•Safely utilizes industrial cleaning chemicals, following all HAZCOMM and SDS procedures

•Is certified on all required PIVs ( powered pallet jacks, fork lifts, scissor lifts ) and uses them safely so that no incident, accident or injury occurs

•Maintain sanitation supplies and equipment in a “ready-to-use” state

•As assigned may work in collaboration, disassembling equipment for sanitation purposes and reassembling after cleaning.

•Provides primary support services for Company waste reduction and recycle programs

•Regularly inspects all production areas and proactively performs duties and extra sanitation tasks as observed (regular assigned areas included bathrooms, outside trash removal, grounds cleanup, snow removal, and application of de-icer.

•Actively and effectively communicate to all stake holders including; production operators, management, maintenance, quality, peers and team members

•Complete all necessary paperwork as required on time and in a thorough, audit-ready manner

•Leads the culture of quality by always working in compliance with all GMP, Food Safety and Safety standards

•Conduct yourself in a professional manner, treating all with respect resulting in an environment conducive to high morale and productivity

•Maintain work area in neat, clean and organized fashion ensuring needed items are organized for use and a smooth transition between shifts

•May be required to assist in training of new departmental personnel

•Must possess basic knowledge of Food Safety, Quality and GMPs as it pertains to personal practices and sanitation ensuring minimum risk of contamination

•Must be successfully trained in appropriate microbiology and QA testing

•Must work well in a collaborative and multi-cultural, team oriented environment

•Adaptability/flexibility is imperative as well as the ability to act/react in real time

•Results driven and proactive with ability to own and execute area of responsibility with excellence

Wages: Starting wages range from $20/per hour to $26.75/per hour depending on experience.
