Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant. As a member of the SWARCO McCain family, you will be responsible for a range of accounting duties supporting the company accounting operations and the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting and be flexible to a variety of roles and responsibilities.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries.
• Assist with month-end reconciliations.
• Review AP and AR batches for accuracy before posting.
• Post cash receipts.
• Process preliminary notices and lien releases.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly sales tax filing.
• Prepare business licenses renewals.
• Fixed assets booking and reconciliation.
• Provide detailed reconciliations and analyses for assigned duties and special projects.

Requirements

Required:

• Minimum of two years accounting experience.
• Minimum of intermediate skill level with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to maintain high confidentiality at all times.
• Have strong time management skills, attention to details and solid communication skills.

Preferred:

• Dynamics Great Plains (GP) experience.
• Familiarity with preparing, analyzing and submitting sales tax returns in multiple states.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or additional relevant job experience.

Physical Conditions / Requirements

• No unusual physical requirements and work is performed occasionally in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
• Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Vision requirements – Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
