SWACO is Hiring a Laborer Near Grove City, OH

PurposeThe Grounds and Facilities Maintenance Laborer position is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general grounds and facilities maintenance duties at SWACO properties. Responsibilities include all duties as directed to cleaning and maintaining buildings, grounds, vehicles, public road right of way and traffic control. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:•Perform custodial duties at SWACO facilities; •Maintain restrooms and replenish supplies daily; •Rake leaves, sweep sidewalks, pick up rubbish and paper, shovel snow and salt walkways at all SWACO facilities. •Pick up litter at SWACO facilities and assigned highways and roadways; •Weed and cultivate flower beds; trim shrubs and trees; spray insecticides to control pest; cut and trim grass at SWACO facilities; •Maintain worksite in a clean and safe condition;•Operate SWACO equipment and vehicles as needed including but not limited to forklift, tractor, and zero-turn mower; •Direct traffic to proper area for dumping and assures that vehicles are located properly prior to dumping; •Clean around recycling drop containers, and assist with deployment of containers to collection sites as needed; Rewarding Compensation and Benefits•Comprehensive medical benefits coverage, dental plans and vision coverage (Traditional PPO with low Benefits).•Short- and long-term disability.•Life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment insurance.•OPERS-State Retirement Pension-Company match 14%•Paid Holidays•Personal, sick and vacation days•Tuition reimbursement•Employee Assistance Program•Thrive On wellness Program •Company purchased PPE •Paid lunch times •On Job Training KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES•Operate light and medium equipment; •Operate a cell phone and/ or laptop to send basic emails and texts; •Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s; •Obtain a valid Ohio Class A Commercial Driver’s License and Department of Transportation Medical Card required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS•While performing the essential duties of this position, the individual is regularly required to climb, lift, balance, walk, stoop, twist, and kneel; considerable use of the arms and legs, including use of hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear; •The individual will regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds or more; •Will also climb ladders, use power tools and noise producing tools and equipment, work in heavy traffic conditions, and enter into spaces with limited working area; WORKING CONDITIONS•Regular exposure to weather conditions, heat, cold, noise, dust, odors, fumes, and mechanical and electrical hazards; •Work may be performed near moving mechanical parts, in elevated dangerous conditions, and outdoors, and •Must be available for emergency call, shift work, and mandatory overtime.
