Job Description: Manager, Software Development Job Description As a player-coach you will manage and lead a team in delivering nCino and Salesforce Financial Services cloud platform, while also participating in day-to-day development. Responsibilities The Manager/Team Lead, Software Development for the Salesforce and nCino platform has design, development, and maintenance responsibility for the Salesforce Financial Services cloud and nCino platforms. This will include support for a broad range of business units such as core banking, wealth management, commercial and residential lending, among others. The position provides exposure to many business units in a dynamic financial services firm. This role requires direct interaction with end users and excellent analytical and communication skills. Deliver results on complex development projects involving teams across the Product Development department and SVB as a whole Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring the proper structures are in place for the on-time delivery of high-quality product releases Collaborate with internal customers and departmental leadership Communicate engineering team processes and priorities to stakeholders and customers as needed Work with customers to resolve business critical concerns Ensure that development team members are supported in order to meet the prioritized needs Clearly communicate schedule and quality expectations and ensure that teams are operating efficiently Instill, strengthen, and maintain a culture centered on continuous improvement and the practical execution of SVB values Ensure all Salesforce and nCino work supports both the individual business areas and the enterprise as a whole. Align all architecture and design decisions with SVB’s Architecture guidelines and standards. Gather Business Requirements working with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and end users. Perform Hands-on Configuration in alignment with enterprise strategy, change management and deployment processes. Implement new products and packages within Salesforce & nCino and communicate updates throughout the company. Understand all aspects of Salesforce.com configuration and technical/functional capabilities, including changes and potential system implications. Partner with various teams to research, resolve, and document production issues. Release and Environment Management including sandbox usage planning, metadata and data migration, environment comparisons and version control. Drives process improvement changes to ensure high productivity and quality of services provided. Maintain high-level familiarity with other IT system/business application capabilities in order to make recommendations about potential upstream/downstream integration or functionality. Partner with Architecture and the Salesforce Product Owner to understand current and future strategies and objectives. Work with Product Managers, Business analysts, and business area stakeholders to understand, document, and prioritize Salesforce and nCino enhancements and projects. Manage all Salesforce environments including Production, Full Sandboxes, Partial Development Sandboxes, etc. Ensure that strict release management protocols are followed, and environments are kept up-to-date. Qualifications 3 years of Hands-on Salesforce experience including lightning and Financial Services Cloud versions 2 years of experience nCino Managed packages with Salesforce Platform 7 years of experience with Software Engineering 2 Years’ experience as Technical Lead, where technically leading other resources Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Salesforce Administrator certification and/or Developer certification is required. Strong knowledge of modern software design principles, concepts, and best practices. Significant Hands-on experience in design and development of custom solutions on the Force.com platform including significant work in Apex, Visual Force, Lightning, application integration patterns using Mule soft and other ETL tools. Expert with configuring / customizing standard SFDC objects such as Leads, Accounts, Opportunities, Reports & Dashboards, with proven hands-on experience building custom objects & solutions. Expert in bulk data migration from Excel & Legacy Systems to SFDC using Apex Data Loader, Demand Tools, and the Import Wizard. Expert knowledge of data structures, data modeling and database schema. Strong experience with technologies integral to Salesforce.com including HTML/XHTML, jQuery, JavaScript, AJAX, SQL, SOAP, REST, JSON, Apex, and SOQL. Multiple Salesforce project deployments including 5 years with release and environment management on enterprise level deployments. Strong mentoring skills with excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving capabilities. Self-motivated with exceptional follow-through Ability to independently prioritize and complete tasks in a structured manner Strong ability to interface and cultivate good working relationships across business and shared service areas at all levels Ability to respectfully challenge requests regardless of level of person making the request Strong problem solving and analysis skills with the ability to work and deliver under tight deadlines Experience with DevOps and CI/CD. Experience working in an agile environment (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) preferred. Experience in financial services is highly desired. Experience with modern JS frameworks like Angular.js and repositories such as Azure DevOps and GitLab is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences #LI-DB Base Pay: $133,967.00 - $200,928.00 Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
