POSITION PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Perform a variety of advanced, technical, and skilled duties as needed to assure the effective and efficient operation of process / production equipment and machinery.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:

• Performs journey level skilled duties in support of all process / production equipment. Provides timely assistance to all equipment operators in a professional manner.
• Monitors equipment operations; assures that equipment is set up and operating according to manufacturer’s specifications; studies various manuals and manufacturer specifications; interprets blueprints, schematics and diagrams as needed to analyze and resolve malfunctions; assesses critical spare parts inventory, and monitors spare parts received and issued from inventory locations; updates the Oracle system for inventory accuracy & work order completion; develops effective relationships with vendors.
• Evaluates engineering alternatives and makes recommendations to the Technical Maintenance Manager for design and set up; installs and maintains electrical and mechanical systems as required.
• Trains equipment operators in basic and routine procedures for making adjustments and tuning equipment.
• Performs related duties as required

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from High School. Plus two (2) years of vocational training or a college degree in the mechanical engineering or electrical automation fields, or equivalent. Five (5) years’ experience performing the above or relatedduties.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Working knowledge of general electrical automation and mechanical engineering concepts, theories, practices and procedures.
• Ability to avoid and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing with operators, technicians, vendors, contractors, and management.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without aid of equipment.
• Forklift certified.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee may be required to left and/or move up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally performs in an open manufacturing facility and participates in the maintenance of equipment. Task include: walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, climbing and lifting. Normal eye, hand and finger dexterity are required. Some exposure to high voltage, pneumatic and hydraulic pressure systems and mechanical pinch point hazards may exist.
