Supernal is Hiring an UX Researcher Near Fremont, CA

Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. This allows passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination. We fuse research in autonomy, robotics, aviation and services to define a new category of mobility for the world’s communities. What we do:

The UX Researcher is a critical role responsible for deeply understanding the user through research and analysis to inform Supernal products (e.g., advanced air mobility vehicle, software solutions) internally and externally. This role will regularly collaborate with Engineering, Research & Development, Hyundai Design Centers, other members of the Digital Operations team, third party partners, and the business at large.

What you can do:

Design, conduct, and analyze user research and testing globally with a wide variety of methods and tools

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to identify, evaluate, and prioritize research topics for study
  • Design and implement appropriate primary and secondary, qualitative and quantitative research studies and testing
  • Generate actionable insights from research that drives product direction and development in close collaboration with other key contributors
  • Analyze data from different sources to discover opportunities and recommend design directions
  • Advocate for the user with data and evidence throughout the product lifecycle

Effectively translate and communicate research results

  • Develop substantial UX artifacts (e.g., storyboards, personas, wireframes, rapid digital prototypes, context scenarios)
  • Translate research results and OS literature into user requirements for Supernal products
  • Communicate and advocate for findings to diverse audiences through written, visual, and oral presentations

Collaborate with internal and external partners

  • Partner closely with third party vendors and partners for global user research and testing
  • Build strong working relationships throughout the company to include engineering, design, and commercialization experts
  • Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

  • BS/BA required, preferred in human behavior or psychology field (e.g., Human Computer Interaction, Ethnography, Anthropology, or a related field).
  • 5 years of relevant work experience 
  • Global user research and testing experience for complex products
  • Demonstrated experience performing all research and testing related tasks including study design, planning, implementation, analysis, and iteration
  • Familiarity with a broad suite of research and testing methods and tools (including remote tools)
  • Dedication to developing solutions to real world user needs with obsession for the users
  • Successful ability to develop innovative solutions to problems and groundbreaking design
  • Outstanding ability to communicate results effective and efficiently
  • Knowledge of Lean UX principles and ability to thrive in a constantly evolving environment
  • Comfortable working face to face or in virtual settings across multiple time zones
  • Self-organizing and self-starting
  • Continuous learner, independent worker, and strong decision maker
  • Collaborative teammate with a dedication to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

You may also be able to contribute:

  • Graduate degree in relevant field
  • Experience in highly regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, automotive, healthcare, finance)
  • Experience with air vehicles, aviation, or other mobility products
  • Experience with physical and digital products
  • Experience with generating artifacts and UX tools (e.g., Sketch, Microsoft Office, InDesign)
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (e.g., JIRA)
