Systems Administrator

Location: Scott AFB, IL

Status: Regular Full-Time
Minimum Clearance: Secret

Superlative Technologies, Inc. (dba SuprTEK), is seeking a full-time, experienced, and motivated Systems Administrator to support the Transportation Geospatial Information System (TGIS) contract with the US Army Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC). The Systems Administrator will ensure that all systems within the AWS Cloud environment and the on-premise environment are maintained and operate as intended while sustaining DoD information system security requirements. The Systems Administrator will work with teammates, program managers, and external support organizations to troubleshoot and remediate issues, support system accreditation processes, and develop infrastructure for new or changing initiatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and maintain the AWS cloud infrastructure enclave, and on-premise infrastructure ensuring systems and software remain patched; deploy, configure and test OS, applications and network software patches and releases
  • Ability to perform administration, operation and maintenance on systems running on Windows 2016 Server.
  • Assess and monitor system performance and security posture by analyzing network and system configurations, troubleshoot degradations and outages and provide feedback to operations team.
  • Ability to maintain the security posture of a system by patching, configuring, and any other tasks needed to keep the system secure.
  • Assist in operational validation of application updates, enhancements and changes.
  • Ability to help assist in the administration and maintenance of a virtual environment infrastructure as needed (VMWare/HyperV).
  • Install, maintain, upgrade, modify, isolate and repair System servers, workstations, thin clients, peripherals and other related software/ hardware.
  • Attend technical exchange meetings and provide input on current and planned system capabilities.
  • Knowledgeable with and experience in applying National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
  • Ability to setup, maintain and troubleshoot Server Certificate and other SSL related items on a system.
  • Ability to create scripts for task automation is a preferred, but not required.
  • Collaborate with teammates and higher-level support to troubleshoot issues
  • Create and update related documentation such as SOPs, TTPs, Confluence pages, and network documents
  • Utilize automated vulnerability assessment tools/applications, such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Nessus, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scans, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) checklists, and analyze findings to develop and implement mitigation efforts
  • Work closely on a small team to develop solutions and roadmaps for new or revised systems, infrastructure and/or initiatives
  • Provide on-call support on rotational basis
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of technical assessments

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • An active Secret security clearance
  • 3 years system administration in DoD supporting technologies (MS Windows Server 2016 , RHEL OS 7 , Oracle, AWS cloud environment, and on-prem infrastructure)
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification: CCNA Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP or higher
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems in stressful situations
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical teammates and management
  • Strong time management skills
