Superlative Technologies, Inc. (dba SuprTEK), is seeking a full-time, motivated Information Assurance Specialist to support the Transportation Geospatial Information System (TGIS) contract with the US Army Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC). The Information Assurance Specialist will ensure requirements are met to include but not limited to risk management, certification and accreditation, vulnerability management, program management support, technical risk assessments on information technology systems and documentation generation. The Information Assurance Specialist will work with program managers, system engineers, and developers to obtain accreditation for DoD classified and unclassified information systems. Good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) are required for this important position.

What you will be doing:

• As the Information Assurance Engineer, your primary role is working with developers, system engineers, and program managers to create, process, and manage certification and accreditation packages using the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) tool supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) 
• Communicate complex concepts to both technical personnel and mid and senior level management 
• Utilize automated vulnerability assessment tools and applications, such as Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Nessus, Fortify, and Security Technical Implementation Guides Benchmarks and Checklists, and analyze findings to develop and direct mitigation efforts
• Create, manage, and maintain information system security plans, policies, and other documentation and compliance as it applies to the NIS 800 series, the RMF, and DOD, USTRANSCOM, and SDDC instructions and policies
• Ensure networks and systems being developed implement DoD Security Controls and enforce mitigation strategies
• Act as a technical resource throughout development and maintenance lifecycle 
• Keep management appropriately informed of progress and issues 
• Proactively identify areas for improvement in process and regularly assess documentation and reports for accuracy and improvement 

What you will need to have for this role:

• An active Secret clearance 
• A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience 
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification: CCNA Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP or higher
• Demonstrated experience in creating, processing, and managing certification and accreditation packages in eMASS supporting RMF 
• Demonstrated experience using automated management information systems to perform fact finding, analytical, and advisory functions related to information assurance activities 
• Demonstrated experience developing solutions to problems relating to improving information assurance effectiveness, work methods, resources requirements, and utilization and controls 
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Self-starter with curious mindset and desire to learn new skills 
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
