Superior is currently seeking aDirector of Rehabilitationto develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure the efficient and effective operation of the rehabilitation department. The Director of Rehabilitation will help to fulfill the facilities mission to provide high-quality, on-site care to residents, allowing them to maintain their active lifestyles. You will work with skilled nursing facilities, post-acute rehabilitation centers, and independent care communities to enhance therapy services for their residents.

The ideal candidate will help provide the best possible therapy services to the residents consistent with established standards of practice and company and department procedures.

Other Responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and supervision to the rehab staff, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and rehab aides.
  • Ensuring that all therapists provide therapy services in accordance with regulatory requirements, established standards of practice, company policies and procedures, therapy department procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Ensuring all therapists adhere to regulatory requirements and Company procedures regarding documentation and billing of therapy services.
  • Planning, organizing, and coordinating rehab services to ensure quality patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet their needs and goals.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of patient records, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Managing the department's budget and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Staying current with industry trends and best practices and implementing them in the rehab department.
  • Being responsible for the knowledge of, and adherence to all regulatory requirements, company policies, procedures, processes and guidelines, job description, certification requirements, HIPAA, confidentiality standards, and resident rights.
  • Communicating and interacting professionally and respectfully with patients and family members in attending to and meeting their requests.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Graduate degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current Minnesota licensure.
  • At least 2 years of LTC experience
  • At least 2 years of management experience.
  • Willing to participate in ongoing continuing education and professional development to maintain current licensure and certification (we’ll help with this – we offer CEU360 training for free to our employees)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
