Description

The Equipment Operator is responsible for using various vehicles and mechanized devices and equipment to restore concrete/asphalt patches and potholes.

Requirements

• Operates, maneuvers, navigates, and drives vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as rollers, mini excavators, and skid steers, or passenger vehicles
• Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards and communicates abnormal working conditions to appropriate parties
• Meets company and customer specifications for all restoration jobs
• Communicates with supervisor daily to turn in required paperwork
• Trains new employees in a safe and efficient operation of all equipment
• Chips, scrapes, and grinds high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete and asphalt, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, jackhammers, skid steers, rollers, mini excavators, pneumatic chisels, and hand tools
• Finishes rolling and whacking
• Works safely around backhoes, excavators, and dump truck

Experience:

• One (1 ) plus years of experience in backhoe/mini excavator operation is required
• One (1 ) plus years of experience digging and working around underground utilities is required
• Two (2 ) plus years of demonstrated experience in dry utilities preferred
• A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with air brake endorsement is preferred
• Tanker endorsement is preferred
• Experience reading basic prints and underground Facility Location Sketch is preferred
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

• Possession of a valid State Driver’s License is required
• Candidates must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job and pass a pre-employment drug screen
