Position Title: Engineering Manager

Business Title: Engineering Manager

Site: 99 Corporate Office

Cost Center: 120 SH&E/Engineering

Location: KY 1 (This position is located at the Hopkinsville, KY manufacturing facility)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages the engineering, design, construction, maintenance, and repair of plant facilities, equipment, and grounds
• Oversees design, layout, and construction for new or modified construction facilities
• Evaluates existing processes or operations for efficiency and recommends improvements
• Identifies, evaluates, and selects vendors for equipment purchases; participates in contract negotiations
• Ensures that all plans, designs, or maps comply with applicable federal, state, or local legislation
• Evaluates and mitigates the environmental impact of the plant
• Ensures safety of all personnel, equipment, facilities, processes, and activities
• Establishes and enforces preventative maintenance schedules and standards
• Manages the work of engineering staff, contractors, or subcontractors
• Forecasts operating costs and directs preparation of budget requests for capital projects
• Serves as subject matter expert for other engineers
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required
• Masters degree in Business Administration or Engineering Management (Preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive relevant experience in a continuous process chemical or bulk solids manufacturing environment required
• Minimum of 3 years of operations management/leadership
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and process control
• Bulk material handling experience required
• Ability to read and create P&ID, layouts, electrical drawings, Gantt Charts required
• Ability to oversee and manage multiple complex projects
• Ability to analyze complex data and formulate long term plans
• Ability to drive change and influence others when appropriate
• Working knowledge of Project Management principals and tools (PMP preferred)
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing
• Advanced computing skills including: Microsoft Office Suite, software collaboration tools, database management, and experience using a modern ERP system (i.e. Oracle, SAP, IFS, etc.) Experience working with Microsoft Project, or similar
• Proficient in use of Solidworks
• Experience working in a Process Safety Management environment or in-depth knowledge of PSM standards preferred
• Must be able to manage projects to completion, meeting their budget, timeline and scope, while prioritizing goals and communicating to stakeholders. Experience working with Microsoft Project, or similar
• PE or other professional designation (preferred)
