Sunvera Group LLC is Hiring a Compliance Specialist Near Bingham Farms, MI

Description

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for implementing Sunvera’s Ethics and Compliance Program for all Sunvera Group affiliated practices. The Compliance Specialists general duties and responsibilities encompass implementing Sunvera’s processes and policies designed to ensure compliance with government healthcare and safety program requirements. The Compliance Specialist will work with the organization’s Clinical Advisory Board and is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Sunvera Group’s Compliance Charter within Sunvera Group’s affiliated practices. 

The successful candidate will be known for demonstrating knowledge in compliance process improvement and requirements of government healthcare programs. Other success factors include past clinical, legal, auditing or compliance experience.

Compliance Specialist principal functions and responsibilities:

  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert regarding compliance standards related to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Medicare and Medicare, Controlled Substances Act (CSA), Anti-Kickback, and Office of Inspector General (OIG) Compliance Program 
  • Responsible for executing the Sunvera Group’s Ethics and Compliance program, reviewing compliance policies, creating compliance educational materials including some training, conduct on-site reviews and develop annual compliance training timelines
  • Develop compliance communications (e.g., web site content, compliance presentations etc.) for various audiences as needed.
  • Participate in meetings to ensure communication and knowledge of compliance program
  • Interacts regularly with CEO, Clinical Advisory Board, and other leadership teams to understand the influence and business strategy to help the organization achieve compliance goals
  • Lead compliance investigations to evaluate associated risks and provide recommendations to leadership to maintain compliance.
  • Identifies compliance gaps and develops appropriate plans to address and close the gaps in collaboration with staff and leadership
  • Review and interpret new and existing Government programs regulations and coordinate with legal staff to provide opinions on compliance issues
  • Identifies and tracks best practices, researches new processes, and recommends compliance program enhancements
  • Stays up to date on industry trends and regulatory guidance changes 

Requirements

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience in related field
  • Minimum three (3) years in related healthcare field which may include experience in legal, compliance, and/or audit and risk assessments
  • Specific knowledge in ophthalmology and co-management a plus

Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Government programs such as HIPAA legislation, privacy rules, or security standards, or federal regulations related to Medicare, Health are Reform, Federal Programs
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to plan, organize, direct, follow up and control projects while exercising high ethical standards and good judgment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to apply concepts to practical situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills handling at times delicate situations with firmness in a considerate manner
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, within a team environment and handle multiple assignments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). 
  • Strong commitment to maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the Compliance Program
  • Ability o research facts regarding issues and incidents
  • Ability to liaison with other departments
