Sunrise Engineering is currently initiating a search for a Traffic Engineer to support our growing organization. This position can be based in any of our Utah locations.

Your Impact

The Traffic Engineer provides both strategic and operational support to the Transportation Division.

• Design portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling and CAD technology
• Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems
• Work to complete design details and plan sets
• Perform research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work
• Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates
• Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff
• Communicate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff

Qualifications

Who You Are:

Required Qualifications

Skills:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
• Ideal candidates would have between one and eight years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and site plan production
• MicroStation proficiency is preferred
• Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, Signing Design, Traffic Management Plan Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil or transportation engineering, transportation planning, or related field demonstrated ability in the transportation and/or traffic engineering field.
• MicroStation proficiency is preferred
• Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, Signing Design, Traffic Management Plan Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred
• DOT experience preferred
• traffic operational analysis and transportation planning.
• Previous experience in a variety of multi-modal transportation studies, including arterial and freeway traffic analysis, conceptual planning design, transit planning, and/or non-motorized planning is preferred
