Job Summary: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for providing administrative and accounting support and serves as a vendor’s main point of contact for questions related to payments and invoices. Work with team members and manager towards meeting departmental metrics, goals, and objectives. Essential Functions of the Job:Provide AP Manager daily reporting of department numbers Analyze goods received not invoiced (GRNI) issues Review invoice on-hold reports to resolve any processing issues Perform timely and accurate month-end account reconciliations as assigned Transfer invoice data between ERP systems Monitor and take appropriate action on AP inquiries received from internal and external customers Work with IT as needed to address system performance issues and testing of new solutions Update and maintain department procedures and training documents Ensure that all appropriate approvals are received prior to payment of vendor invoices Primary back-up for weekly payment runs and auditing expense reports Data entry of AP invoices, recurring invoices, and expense reports 3-way matching of invoices in an automated environment Reconciling vendor statements Support and backfill other functions as needed Other duties, as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: None Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience3 years’ experience in accounting, specifically supporting APPreferred Qualifications:Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPointProficiency in Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Oracle ERP Training a team in an AP environment Experience with fully automated accounting systems (Kofax, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics AX)Issuing vendor payments via check, ACH, credit card and wire Knowledge of and working under SOX compliance Processing with multiple currencies Working in a Shared Services Environment Multi-State Sales and Use tax Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of Accounting principles Attention to detail Self-motivated and organized with a strong work ethic Ability to solve problems and work with minimal supervision Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Comfortable working in a fast paced, high volume, multi-tasked environment Professional and courteous communication via email and telephone Additional Considerations: Location: This position will be at the SunOpta Corporate Office in Eden Prairie, MN.
