What you will be doing:
- Design, build, and operate a backend of a big data real-time analytics platform focused on distributed Application Performance Monitoring or Tracing solutions with Open Telemetry standard.
- Educate and train development team members on aspects of Application Performance Monitoring application along with technical implementation details.
- Produce clean and well-tested Scala code. Utilize core technologies such as DynamoDB optimization (Open Telemetry Span Storage optimizations to reduce cost of operations, including changing data format, batching, compression and other methods), Elasticsearch and Kafka.
- Analyze, maintain and improve scalability, performance and reliability.
- Research, benchmark, optimize and implement solutions aimed at improving the performance and reliability of our product.
- Perform complex operational work on production deployments during on-calls.
- Participate in the code review process, ensure design reviews.
- Telecommuting is permitted.
What we need from you
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related IT field and two (2) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or in a related role.
- Experience with:
- Real-time streaming workflow over large amounts of data;
- Object-oriented programming using Java, Scala, or C ;
- Algorithms and performance characteristics of large distributed software systems; and,
- Understanding of distributed systems auto scale up/ right sizing of the infrastructure.

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $170,000 . Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) such as role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards.
