We are currently searching for a new Dining Services Director.

This position manages all food and dining operations for the community. Responsibilities include the management of menus and recipes, dining service personnel, food supplies and kitchen equipment, food production, and routine nutritional aspects of food services including some cooking.

Dining Services Director Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for hiring, orientation, training, scheduling, and management of personnel in the Dining Services Department.
• Provides feedback to the Resident Services Director on the performance of the Resident Services Assistants regarding the performance of dining activities.
• Development, in coordination with the Executive Director and/or other members of the Management Company, of new menu items and recipes.
• Estimates food consumption patterns and requirements to determine the type and quantity of all food items needed.
• Maintains inventory par levels in accordance with established menus and consumption needs.
• Assures that food is received, stored, prepared, and served in accordance with sanitary and HACCP guidelines.
• Works in coordination with the Health Services Director (RN) to provide a menu for residents that meets the RDA guidelines, and all physicians’ orders
• Work with local vendors to source as much food locally as possible.
• Works in conjunction with the Resident Services Director to oversee and manage Resident Services Assistants to ensure a high-quality dining experience is established and maintained.
• Assists in the preparation of and adheres to the operating budget.
• Maintain appropriate records daily for meal counts, and any necessary ancillary charges.
• Attend meetings as assigned.
• Participate in the Manager on Duty (MOD) rotation as scheduled for the community.

Dining Services Director Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Previous experience working within a senior living community.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food production and use of standardized recipes.
• Background experience in volume food production.
• Ability to communicate effectively at a professional level in writing and verbally.
• Able to manage several tasks at the same time.
• Is resourceful and willing to satisfy both ordinary and extraordinary needs of prospective residents/families.
• Must be computer literate and be efficient in the use of:
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Outlook
• Ability to use the internet for research and email.

Dining Services Director Qualifications

• Formal culinary educational training from a recognized program, school or university.
• Must have good communication skills, be able to read, write, and speak English up to at least the 12th-grade level, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be certified or willing to receive Serv-Safe certification with District certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
