The Operations Specialist – Associate, is a role that is responsible for setting up client accounts in the various back-office systems. This includes client data along with multiple delivery instructions. Work with various groups on operation initiatives and manage projects. The individual will be able to filter out noise in information, adaptable and be a quick study on maintaining various system exceptions. This role will work closely with the Transaction Processing, Settlements Groups and Information Technology groups. Role will act as a first level point of escalation for client inquiries. Reports to the Vice President.
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $76,000 and $120,000. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
-Create client accounts in the back-office systems while ensuring process flow linkages and data tables are referenced ie. Impact and NetX360
-Maintain data tables to ensure proper capture of information to reduce redundant work
-Store and maintain client documents, along with requests and approvals related to account set-ups, blotters, reconciliations, and other related information.
-Assist Settlements Group and middle office to assure smooth settlement of transactions
-Review and approve books and records database, NetX360 requests, IMPACT requests, accounting requests and other technology related requests.
-Understand the client setups, RegS/144A conversion process, corporate action related processes, syndicate operations, and Trade life cycle
-Experience dealing with prime brokers, custodians, and counter parties to resolve time sensitive issues
-Experience with IMPACT, NetX360, TRADE LIFE CYCLE, CORPORATE ACTIONS, SYNDICATE OPS, GLOSS, GLOBAL ONE, PROJECT MANAGEMENT, EXCEL.
-Document work processes and procedures and train other co-workers on new processes
-Assist the Operations group with any ad-hoc requests and projects.
Minimum 2 years industry experience
Working knowledge of IMPACT, NetX360, GLOSS, GLOBAL ONE, BLOOMBERG, CORPORATE ACTIONS, SYNDICATE OPERATIONS
Know the Securities Trade Life cycle
Project Management skills and multi-tasking
Good with Excel and technology
