Stryten Energy is Hiring a Process Engineer Near Fort Smith, AR

Overview

The Process Engineer is responsible for the engineering projects as specified by the Engineering and/or Plant Manager. Design, development, and support of projects.

Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Direct the activities of multiple engineering projects
  • Provide oversight and direction of LEAN initiatives, Kaizen and TPM events focused on overall optimization of business processes and practices to positively impact results of the plant.
  • Provide plant guidance on engineering issues and processes
  • Generate cost reduction and product quality improvement ideas
  • Utilize lean concepts on projects throughout the plant to achieve goals.
  • Provide engineering assistance to other department for projects

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to do this job.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:Required:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologies
  • Minimum of one (1) year of process experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred:

  • Basic Lean Training - Certificate of training
  • Experience working in a union manufacturing plant
  • Battery Service Industry experience

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:Required:

  • Able to work with employees on projects to achieve goals
  • Work with internal and external customers to reduce warranty and achieve internal and external goals
  • Able to think outside the box on projects
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Effective coaching and mentoring skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to give and share information to/with associates, co-workers, customers and production management in order to achieve optimum plant performance
  • PLC Programming - Basic knowledge of ladder logic, wiring diagrams and troubleshooting

Preferred:

  • Background in supplier quality systems or maintenance management systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, individual is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
  • Individual is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to occassionally lift a minimum 50 lbs, regularly lift a minimum 25 lbs on a daily basis and 51 to 150 lbs with assistance of equipment on a daily to weekly basis
  • Regular use of safety glasses and steel toed shoes
  • Limited to regular use of respirator depending on project or department assignment
  • Vision requirements: close vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job, individual is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles
  • Individual occassionally exposed to precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
  • Noise level is minimal to loud
  • Regularly is working in a dirty lead contaminated area and must wear a uniform and safety shoes in that area to prevent the tracking and / or possible lead contamination of other clean areas or outside or the regulated areas
  • Travel maybe required occasionally in North America, and rarely outside of North America
